#Audi b8 vs b8.5 manual

never mention that you might want to drive a manual in this sub! There are a lot of people that read or saw reviews on how good the dsg is and most importantly that it is faster to 60. I was also put-off by the equipment decisions VW made, apparently so it would not compete with the S3 (even though it isn't sold here as a hatchback), such as no passenger-side power seats, no sunroof, minimal leather stitching and other interior touches considering the price, etc. What I dislike about the Golf R is the turbo lag of the engine (while not bad by historical standards, it was something I noticed when test-driving it), and the cable manual transmission having a detached feel. It is the ultimate space-efficient hot-hatch. the S4, in a package that weighs 550 pounds less. What I like about the Golf R is the equal front seat room and greater rear seat room vs. What I dislike about the S4 is the massive weight considering its size and displacement, and the horrendous experience I had with my previous S4's cost of ownership - given the B8.5 warranties are mostly used up, I hesitate to get another German luxury car. What attracts me to the B8.5 S4 is the lack of V8 problems, while still having the instant throttle response with the supercharged V6, along with the 55/45 weight distribution to go with the 40/60 power split and the crown-gear rear differential. The car was constantly in the shop, and I sold it once I discovered that the timing chain guide failures were not rare 'defects', but rather inevitable 'fatigue failure'. What I hated about the car was the atrocious durability and cost of ownership (both gas and maintenance/repair costs). It was even extremely popular with random car people I'd meet, who thought the idea of a relatively small wagon with a V8, AWD, and manual transmission was incredibly cool. I loved the sound and instant power of the engine, and the handling.

I owned a B7 S4 Avant 6MT that I had a love/hate relationship with. I'll give my thoughts on them, and I'm curious what people who know them better than me have to say about the cars.

I'm looking for a practical grown-up driver's car with AWD and a manual transmission, and I seem to have narrowed the choices down to the 2013-2016 Audi S4 vs.
